Tantuvi, founded in 2010, is a New York–based design studio working with hand-loom textile cooperatives in India, where designer Arati Rao and artist Adam Sipe spend most the year traveling, researching, and cultivating relationships with cottage industry artisans. Womenswear and textiles were launched in 2012 and Tantuvi Home debuted in 2016 with a selection of rugs, throws and pillows.
At Sight Unseen OFFSITE, we will be debuting our first piece of furniture and a dhurrie runner. The 30-foot-long runner is inspired by early experiments in formal abstract animation. The ottoman stools will feature our hand-woven dhurries on a wooden base, expanding our vision with a versatile piece of furniture for urban spaces.
