Jean-Pascal Gauthier is a Montreal-based designer. He discovered a passion for lighting and began teaching himself how to design in 2013. Each lamp is a unique, handmade creation. His inspirations come from all that surrounds him, but mostly from artists of the 20th century like Calder and Guariche. His unconventional methods and aesthetic are often compared to a painter’s touch. His creations are described as colorful and geometric.
At Sight Unseen OFFSITE, Jean-Pascal Gauthier will be presenting 10 of his unique creations. Each piece is a balanced structure blending light, color, vegetation, and geometry. These modern pieces are made with raw and rich materials like brass, steel, wood, and marble.
