Seattle-based designer Erich Ginder founded his eponymous studio in 2004, shortly after studying at Chicago’s School of the Art Institute. From his first studio in San Francisco’s Mission District, he designed his Ghost series of coat racks, followed by 2006’s Neo-Baroque Mansion chandelier. Much of Ginder’s work draws upon imagery from his youth growing up in the rural Pacific Northwest. Through irreverent application of technology and the handmade, the studio imbues its products with emotion and meaning.
At Sight Unseen OFFSITE, Erich Ginder will present Hyperlink, a series of dynamic, highly customizable LED lights, designed to mount to the wall or ceiling. Units connect to each other to form long meandering expressions within a space, or link tightly together to create chain-like compositions.
